This is one of the six panels taken off the walls of a tomb chamber from the V Century B.C,. discovered at the beginning of the 19th Century at Ruvo, in Apulia, and attributable to the Magna Graecia Culture. The tomb, whose funerary collection of utensils had already been plundered, was richly decorated on all four walls, illustrating a funeral dance with women adorned in multicoloured garments. These frescoes, removed from the original tomb, nave been part of the archeological collection of the Museum in Naples since 1838.
